Investors Group Commits $60,000 to Habitat for Humanity, Saint John
SAINT JOHN, NB –– Financial Consultants from Investors Group, Saint John, announced continued support for Habitat for Humanity Saint John Region Inc. Richard Walter, Regional Director of the local Investors Group, said they will commit $60,000 over the next five years to the cause.
“We’re really proud of the achievements of Habitat For Humanity Saint John; of what they’ve been able to do over the last four years,” said Walter. “They’ve helped four families realize the dream of home ownership through a caring commitment from the community-at-large, and the outpouring of support both financially and in volunteer time from many individuals and companies throughout Saint John. Investors Group is proud to be part of this winning equation where so much good is attained.”
This is not the first significant contribution financial consultants from Investors Group, Saint John, have made to the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. Since Habitat built its first home in Saint John in 1998, Investors Group contributed over $50,000 as well as valuable volunteer time and manpower.
The $60,000 commitment is good news for the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate.
“Habitat for Humanity homes esteem the whole family,” said organization president Debbie Rice. “Having their own home empowers these families, and instills a great sense of pride and accomplishment. Their lives not only become enriched, but these families enrich the community as a whole. Investors Group’s significant commitment enables us to continue to do this rewarding work in the city. We can now move forward with confidence. This $60,000 commitment brings their financial contribution to date to $110,000, a very substantial amount for which we are extremely appreciative. We are very grateful to Investors Group for their continued support.”
Habitat for Humanity, Saint John Region Inc., is an independent, non-profit, Christian housing program dedicated to providing homes for Saint John area families in need. Last year, the organization selected Cheryl Green and her two daughters Keesha, 12, and Tiffany, 10, for its 2001 home.
Habitat for Humanity, Saint John, is now in the process of selecting a family for its 2002 house. Habitat began collecting applications last fall and plans to announce the family by March.
